The last couple of weeks have been very busy with a celebration of World Book Day, last Thursday and many after school clubs.
I have been very pleased with the response to the Catholic Life Questionnaire; however could I please encourage you to complete and return yours. Your opinion is extremely valuable and it helps us shape the way forward for the benefit of the pupils.
Attendance has dropped across the school, however the best attendance last week was a very disappointing 90.2%.
Over the next couple of weeks we have several events coming up for the children – Year 5 will be attending a Science Day and then a World Book Day event at Sirius North. Year 6, will be going to a drama day at St Mary’s College.
In the final week of term we will be having Parents Evening, I hope you are able to attend to learn more about your child’s progress over the last term.
We will also be having a number of events for Holy Week, starting with a Class Liturgy led by Year3 to celebrate Palm Sunday on Monday 19th March, at 9am.On Tuesday 20th March, all classes will take part in Prayer Stations led by the School Chaplaincy Team and on Thursday 22nd March the children will learn about Maundy Thursday in a class Liturgy. The week will end with The Stations of the Cross led by Year 5, on Friday 23rd March.
In between these events we will be having a visit from the Educational Team from DRAX Power Station, to learn about electricity and how it is generated.
In the meantime, could I please remind parents that it is important for the children to wear their school uniform every day and that it can be purchased from Rawcliffes in the city centre, or online. All after school clubs will continue until the end of term.
Thank you for your on-going support.
